Wow! Bancroft Nursing home has migrated from Allen Street to Hammond. I use to deliver newspapers to the residence of the orignal building at Allen & Main. I remember this building; wasn't it a VFW at one time?
My mother was a member of the auxiliary there - in fact my wedding reception was held there.
I dont remember this building.I do remember a nursing home which was just torn down however, this site is just empty lot accross street from dunkin donouts
We used to go there after Mass on Sunday, as it was a place you could get a drink, even if you were under age.
