Went here many times just to buy their spaghetti sause to go, it was great. Also the Parkway diner and the famous Wonder Bar Restaurant were great Italian places on Shrewsbury Street. No frills there, but the food and pizza were especially great. Went there as a child in the 50's and all through the 60's, till I left Worcester. In 1970 a pizza was 3.00!! Loved the jukeboxes on the wall , that actually worked back in the 50's. They still have them, but they don't work now, just replicas. It just recently closed this summer, but I hear its been re-opened now by new owners. Says the pizza is the same--will have to see about that. Always went to the Wonder Bar on my trips home, still do till this day. I remember Turos market used to be right near it, they had the best club sandwiches for 25 cents!!! Boy, did we stock up on those. Not much to them, but a great snack. Mom used to buy them for our lunches. I think they finally went up to 50 cents, still a "steal" I hope these restaurants on Shrewsbury street stay open, they are landmarks of Worcester!!
